David B. Hale, MD, PhD, is a distinguished emergency medicine physician and healthcare leader serving as the Emergency Department Director and Associate Chief Medical Officer at ThedaCare Medical Center in New London, Wisconsin. With decades of clinical experience and a deep commitment to advancing emergency care, Dr. Hale also leads ThedaCare’s efforts in sepsis management as the ED Sepsis Champion. Board-certified in emergency medicine since 1996, Dr. Hale brings a wealth of expertise in acute care, clinical operations, and interdisciplinary collaboration. His leadership is instrumental in driving quality improvement initiatives, optimizing patient outcomes, and aligning emergency department practices with evidence-based standards. In addition to his clinical and administrative roles, Dr. Hale is a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, having served in both Minnesota and Wisconsin units with multiple deployments overseas.
