Description:

This session was part of Sepsis Alliance Summit 2026

Septic shock remains a leading cause of mortality in critically ill patients, with limited therapeutic options beyond supportive care. This sponsored session will review emerging blood purification strategies designed to target the pathophysiologic drivers of sepsis, with a focus on endotoxin removal and extracorporeal therapies. Using the recently published TIGRIS trial as a guide, Dr. Javier Neyra will examine the rationale for polymyxin B hemoadsorption in patients with endotoxic septic shock, key efficacy and safety findings, and the implications for precision medicine approaches in sepsis care.

Target Audience:

Nurses, advanced practice providers, physicians, emergency responders, pharmacists, medical technologists, respiratory therapists, physical/occupational therapists, infection prevention specialists, data/quality specialists, and more.

Session Supporter:

Sepsis Alliance gratefully acknowledges the support of this session provided by Vantive.
