About the IntelliSep Sepsis Test
About Cytovale

Cytovale is a medical diagnostics company focused on providing a more rapid and insightful way to diagnose fast-moving and immune-mediated diseases. The IntelliSep sepsis test is the first application of this novel technology.
Today, sepsis pathways lack a reliable, accurate, objective measure of sepsis risk. Without this objective anchor, these pathways break down. IntelliSep is the first and only FDA-cleared host response sepsis test indicated for use in the Emergency Department. It delivers a score which quantifies the probability of sepsis risk in ~8 minutes, from the first blood draw. It fits into existing workflows, giving care teams the facts they need to distinguish true sepsis patients from those who may have a localized infection or have another condition that mimics sepsis. When clinicians have this objective information about sepsis risk, they can quickly and confidently place patients on the appropriate care pathway.
Evidence has shown, patients tested with IntelliSep receive appropriate treatment earlier and avoid unnecessary care, resulting in a reduction in mortality, reduced length of stay, faster throughput, and meaningful cost savings.
Like EKG for heart attacks and CT scans for stroke, IntelliSep is on a path to be the new standard for early sepsis diagnosis.

Real-World Impact of the IntelliSep Sepsis Test
After one year using the IntelliSep sepsis test, the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady (FMOL) Health System expanded adoption of IntelliSep from one hospital site to five.
A recently published study documents results from the first year IntelliSep was in use at their initial IntelliSep launch site, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, an 800-bed academic medical center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Key findings from the study include: 39% reduction in sepsis mortality, 0.76 day reduction in length of stay for sepsis patients, and 40% reduction in blood cultures for low-risk patients.
Similar results have been reproduced at their other sites as well. Hear directly from the patients and clinicians at St. Dominic Hospital, a 575-bed hospital part of the FMOL health system, located in Jackson, Mississippi:

IntelliSep Intended Use: To aid in the early detection of sepsis with organ dysfunction manifesting within the first 3 days after testing, in conjunction with clinical assessments and laboratory findings. IntelliSep is indicated for use in the Emergency Department (ED) for adult patients that present with signs and symptoms of infection.
